Chelsea have agreed a £33.2million deal with Marseille to sign striker Michy Batshuayi.
The
Belgium international had his medical with Chelsea staff at Chateau du
Haillan, in Bordeaux on Wednesday ahead of agreeing personal terms on a
five-year contract.
Marseille
had agreed the fee with Chelsea on Tuesday evening after receiving
counter offers from Crystal Palace, West Ham and Tottenham.

Chelsea have beaten Tottenham and Crystal Palace in the race for the 22-year-old forward's signature
West Ham launched a £32m bid for Batshuayi on Wednesday but have been beaten to his signature by their London rivals.
The
cash-strapped French side needed to reach a conclusion swiftly as they
were under threat of sanctions from DNCG, the financial regulator of
football clubs in France, unless they paid £21m by July 5.
They
are also due to pay a sell-on of £11.5million to Batshuayi's former
club Standard Liege owing to their 35 per cent sell-on clause,
effectively leaving Marseille with around £700,000 from the deal.
President Vincent Labrune is now expected to step down and pave way for a restructuring of the club.
The
22-year-old Batshuayi was due to talk at his country's press conference
on Wednesday ahead of their Euro 2016 quarter-final with Wales but was
stood down on the insistence of Marseille as talks accelerated.
Belgium boss
Marc Wilmots said of the deal: 'I think it is best that players are
busy with transfers. This shows that they have worked hard. They had a
free afternoon yesterday and some took the opportunity to move forward
with transfer issues. It’s good to solve these problems.
'He
did not ask me for advice [over the move]. Marseille just asked me to
release him for two hours for a medical visit from 10 am to noon. That’s
all.'
He
was not Chelsea's first option and still lacks consistency but manager
Antonio Conte has been convinced he has potential to develop.
Batshuyai
scored 21 goals last season and impressed in his cameo during Sunday's
4-0 win over Hungary, when he came off the bench to replace Romelu
Lukaku and scored with his first touch.
Lukaku
was another option for Chelsea while their priority target has been
Alvaro Morata at Real Madrid though that deal is considered complicated
and they face fierce competition.
Chelsea
have sent Radamel Falcao back to Monaco while Loic Remy is a target for
clubs in Turkey and Atletico Madrid remain keen on a return for Diego
Costa.
